Lyons,

Mr. W.L. Beasley, age 70, of Lyons, died Thursday, August 24, 2017, in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Cedar Crossing, and lived in Lyons most of his life.  He was a 1965 graduate of Toombs Central High School, worked with Oxford Manufacturing for more than forty years.  He was a member of the Lyons Holiness Church, and formerly served as clerk, choir leader, and Sunday school teacher.  His family was his life.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Berry and Belle NeeSmith Beasley; one sister, Bernice Beasley; and three brothers, Mark Beasley, C.A. Beasley, and J.W. Beasley.

Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife of fifty years, Annie Ruth Beasley; two sons, Wendell Beasley and wife Lawanda, and Kenneth Beasley and wife Cheryl, all of Lyons; four grandchildren, Joshua Beasley, Jeremy Beasley, Saralan Beasley, all of Lyons, and Jessica Beasley of Fernandina, Beach, Florida; one great-grandson, Jacob Harrison of Fernandina Beach; two sisters, Esther Beasley Dowd and husband Henry, and Reba Beasley Waller, all of Cedar Crossing; two brothers, Jimmy Beasley and wife Jimmie Lou of Lake Wales, Florida, and Billy Beasley and wife Joyce of Cedar Crossing; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 27th at 1:00 p.m. in the Lyons Holiness Church with Reverend Clayton Dowd, Reverend Chuck Bennett, and Guy Aaron officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at their home at 1736 US Hwy 1 North Lyons, beginning at 1:00 on Saturday.
