Travis McBrideNovember 6, 1940 ~ July 26, 2017 (age 76)
Mr. Travis McBride, age 76, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at his home, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, a 1958 graduate of Vidalia High School, and was recruited by Coach Bobby Bowden to play at South Georgia College in Douglas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked with his father at McBride Auto Sales for several years, with Durden Chevrolet for more than thirty years, and retired from Webster Motor Company. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed Vidalia High School Football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Lucille Fussell McBride.
Mr. McBride is survived by his wife, Hilda Tarver McBride; one daughter, Angie McBride Mosley and Artie of Tifton; two sons, Jason McBride and wife Nita, and Brett Tarver and Susan, all of Vidalia; one sister, Lonnette Mead of Tarrytown; six grandchildren, Chris Burkett, Derek Mosley, Kyle Tarver, Dustin Tarver, Nicolas McBride, and Nathan McBride; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29th at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
