Ohoopee Community,

Mr. Thomas C. “Tommy” Talley, age 88, of the Ohoopee Community, died Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, lived in Ohoopee all of his life, and was a graduate of Lyons High School.  He was a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant veteran of World War II, and was a tank operator, and an amphibious Coxswain Landing Craft operator.  He was a lifelong tree farmer, a member of the Ohoopee Baptist Church, and attended the First Baptist Church of Lyons.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Talley and Agnes Talley Read; and five siblings, Hovas Talley, Maude Talley Brannen, Dona Horne, Jerry Talley, and Kenneth Talley.

Mr. Talley is survived by his wife of sixty years, Janis Braddy Talley of Ohoopee; two daughters, Lydia Renee Talley of Ohoopee and Cindy Nolfe and husband Joe of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, W.O. Talley, Jr. and wife Joyce of Ohoopee; three grandchildren, Patrick Nolfe, Ryan Nolfe, and Chase Nolfe; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ohoopee Community Cemetery with Military Honors.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ohoopee Baptist Church, or the First Baptist Church of Lyons.
