Mt. Vernon,

Mrs. Tammy Brinson Fountain, age 47, of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was born in Savannah, moved to Toombs County as a child, was a 1986 graduate of Toombs Central High School, and has lived in Mt. Vernon for the past twenty years.  She was a graduate of Brewton-Parker College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, earned a Master’s Degree in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.  She taught school for sixteen years at Treutlen County High School.  She was a member of the South Thompson Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her mother, Willene Williams Brinson; a brother, George Warren Brinson, Jr.; and a great-niece, LilyAnna Brinson.

Mrs. Fountain is survived by her husband, David Fountain III; one son, Joshua Fountain, both of Mt. Vernon; her father, George Warren Brinson, Sr. of the South Thompson Community; one sister, Faith Susan Freyermuth and husband Johnny of Fairmont; two brothers, John Paul Brinson of South Thompson and Stephen Samuel Brinson and wife Katie of Chester, Virginia; sister-in-law, Tammy Brinson Harrelson of Lyons; six nieces and nephews, one  great-niece, one great-nephew, and two sorority sisters, Gail Ford of Alamo and Janice Walden of Soperton.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Ronald Cobb and Reverend Greg Riner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery near Alston with Reverend B.L. Horne.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
