Mrs. Ruby Nan Jewell Pittman, age 79, of the English Eddy Community died Monday, January 19, 2015 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived all of her life in the English Eddy Community. She was a homemaker and was a member of the English Eddy Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Clyde Pittman and her parents, Ruby Myrle Watts Jewell and John Ray Jewell.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by five children, Jerry Pittman and wife Anita of the English Eddy Community, Donna Lawson and husband Keith of Oak Park, Carri Moore and husband Lynn of Vidalia, Timmy Pittman and wife Patricia of the English Eddy Community, and Janice Purvis and husband Henry of Dublin; one sister, Peggy Duckworth and husband Virgil of Reidsville; fourteen grandchildren, Heather Lynn, Jeremy Pittman. Patrick Pittman, Jeffery Lawson, Travis Lawson, Kerry McDuffie, Kristopher Westberry, Erin Rollins, Mandi Varnadoe, Mitchell Pittman, Kyle Pittman, Jonathan Pittman, Caitlyn Pittman, and Kimberly Purvis; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend and caregiver, Carrie Summerset.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 21st at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Brice and Reverend Bob Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the English Eddy Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the English Eddy Prebyterian Church, 364 Cedar Crossing Road, Lyons GA 30436.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
