Mr. Robert W. Fennell, age 74, of the New Branch Community, died at his home on Saturday, March 17, 2018, with his loving wife by his side, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Glennville, was a 1961 graduate of Glennville High School and attended Georgia Southern College in Statesboro.  He retired after eighteen years from the Georgia Department of Corrections/Auditing Division, served in the Army National Guard, and was Baptist by faith.  He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dane Fennell; parents, William Carroll Fennell and Zona Mae Hallman Fennell; and a brother, John I. Fennell.

Mr. Fennell is survived by his wife of twenty years, Brenda Jo Gay-Fennell of New Branch; two children, Neil Fennell of Thomasville and Robin Fennell Dutton of Glennville; two sisters, Carolyn Jean Blocker and husband Cleveland of Immokalee, Florida and Glenda Anderson and husband Larry B. of Dalton; one sister-in-law, Mary Fennell of Reidsville; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 20th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Corley officiating.  Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
