Vidalia,
Mrs. Rita Wall Hamilton, age 92, of Vidalia, died Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Ivy Springs Assisted Living in Buford, after an extended illness. She a native of the Center Community, lived in Vidalia most of her life, and moved ten years ago to be with her daughter. Early in her life, she worked at Palmetto Box Factory in Vidalia for twenty years, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Center United Methodist Church. She was a preceded in death by two husbands, Albert Wall and Elmo Hamilton; one son, David Wall; parents, William Waller “Bud” Rowland and Rosa Lee Taylor Rowland; and four siblings, Edward Rowland, Rosa Lee McNair, Mary Ellen Jones, and Joe Rowland.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by one daughter, Linda Wall Peterson and husband John A. Peterson of Flowery Branch; one brother, Kenneth Rowland and wife Faye of Union Point; two grandchildren, Jay Peterson and fiancé Jennifer of Flowery Branch, and Paige Staples and husband Chris of Buford; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Parker, Abigail, and Ella; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Center United Methodist Church with Reverend Ron Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00.
