Vidalia,

Reverend Steve Bryant, age 65, of Vidalia, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, after a brief illness.  He was born in Vidalia, and was a 1968 graduate of Claxton High School, and was a graduate of Georgia Southern University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology.  He was the pastor of United Fellowship Baptist Church in Oak Park for twenty-three years.  He retired after twenty-five years from the Georgia Department of Corrections as probation officer and counselor.  He was an avid golfer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lester Bryant and Sarah Ann Howell Bryant.

Reverend Bryant is survived by his wife, Brenda Williams Bryant of Vidalia; one daughter, Pearl Taylor Statesboro; two sisters, Connie Bryant of Vidalia and Ellen Massey of Milledgeville; one granddaughter, Zoey Gray of Statesboro; and his legacy children, Stephanie Amanda, Billy, Sean, and Tyler.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 27th at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Carlon Lewis and Sean Beckum officiating.  Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
