Lyons,
Mr. Raymond Eugene “Gene” Moore, age 82, of Lyons, died Monday, April 10, 2018, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after a brief illness. He was a native of Winter Haven, Florida, living there and in Lyons since 1998. He was a drywall hanger and finisher for many years, and retired from Ft. Rucker in Daleville, Alabama after eleven years. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the Vidalia Baptist Temple. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Raymond Moore; parents, Morris Moore and Lois Mosley Moore; and a brother, James Edward Moore.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Louise Edenfield Coe Moore of Lyons; five children, Larry Moore and wife Diane of Kocamo, Indiana, Samantha Moore Meeks and husband Mitchell of Reidsville, Michael Eugene Moore of Vermont, Janet Mosley Hester and husband Kent of Monroe, North Carolina, and Tammy Coe Sikes of Lyons; one sister-in-law, Luckie Wilkes Moore; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, April 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Scottie Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Shady Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
