Ralph A. Raulerson

Mr. Ralph A. Raulerson, Sr., age 77, of Mt. Vernon, died Sunday, February 11, 2018, in the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, after a sudden illness.  He was a native of Immokalee, Florida, and graduated high school there.  He moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, where he lived most of his life, and has lived in Mt. Vernon since 2002.  He retired after twenty-one years from Lee County, Florida Mosquito Control.  He was a member of Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, where he served as church treasurer, and played the guitar and sang.  He was a member of the former Borderline Blue Grass Band in Ft. Myers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney Henry Raulerson and Clara Thomas Raulerson; one sister, Daphne; and two brothers, Hardy and Barney.

Mr. Raulerson is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Vonnie Raulerson of Mt. Vernon; six children, Debbie Raulerson, Ralph Raulerson, Jr., both of North Ft. Myers, Vonda Smith of Dallas, Texas, Clifton Kruse, Kevin Kruse, and Valorie Hinspeter, all of Lehigh Acres, Florida; seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 15th at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Patrick and Pastor B.L. Horne officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Calvary’s Grace on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
