Dannie,
I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your brother Paul. Belinda and I would like you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours during this difficult time in your lives.
I met Paul when I started to work for the Department of Corrections in 1988. As I worked directly for him for several years at the Fast Track Unit at Ware State Prison, I can honestly say, he was one of the best Wardens I have worked for in my 29 years with this department. He always stood up for his people, no matter the circumstance. In that regard, you and he were exactly alike.
May God comfort you and yours in this time of sorrow. And through his grace assure you that this too shall pass.
God bless you,
William J. Grant

Paul was one of my favorite cousins growing up. We spent thousands of hours running around Ailey with our other cousins looking for something to get into. Paul was a great athlete and friend, admired by all of us. He was the leader of the pack in most of our endeavors and could be bested in a footrace only by the fleet Tabbo THOMPSON. I had many a good meal at his house, prepared by his mother Christine, who was as pretty as she was charming and capable. As the years went by, I saw Paul only fleetingly and missed his company. I had great love and respect for him and his family and pray that he rests in peace. I will miss him and regret that I did not work harder to spend more time with him as we got older.

May God comfort you all and give you peace throughout the days that are coming. God is in control. Look to him for your guidance and know that he will be with you though the days that are coming. It is not for us to necessarily understand but it is for us to accept. I pray that God be with you each and everyone as you mourn him and what he meant to each of you.
