Mrs. Nell R. Craft, 73, of the Sharpe Spur Community in Montgomery County, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in the Community Hospice House, after a brief battle with aggressive cancer. She was a native of Wheeler County, living most of her life in Montgomery County, and was a 1961 graduate of Montgomery County High School. She worked with Roydon Wear in Mt. Vernon as a purchaser for twenty-eight years and with Oxford Industries of Vidalia for sixteen years. Also, she worked with Goodwill in Vidalia. She was a member of the Alston Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, taking care of her yard, and grass cutting. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest R. Craft, parents Doel Edward Powell and Mammie Lou Gibbs Powell, and nine siblings.
Mrs. Craft is survived by one son, Adam Craft and wife Carol; three grandchildren, Trent Craft, Blaine Craft, and Rachel Craft, all of Sharpe Spur, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Morgan, Reverend W.R. Connell, and Reverend Doyle Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
