Mrs. Mary Williamson Shuman, age 85, of Vidalia died Saturday, May 23, 2015 after an extended illness. She was a native of the Petross Community, and lived in Vidalia most of her life. She was the owner of the “Kiddie Kampus” in Vidalia from 1957 until 1983. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her husband Felton Shuman in 2011; parents, Hilton and Anabelle Gray Williamson; and six siblings, Marion, A.G., Collie, Sue, Ann, and Rose.
Mrs. Shuman is survived by three daughters, Debby Thompson and husband Robbie of Vidalia, Phyllis Bowen and husband Danny of Vidalia, and Sherry Taylor and husband Roy of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Julie English, Les Thompson and wife Meredith, Brandon Bowen and wife Melanie, Christopher Bowen, Sharon Coe and husband Jason, and Suzanne Taylor; five great-grandchildren Andrew Thompson, Ross Bowen, Annabelle Coe, Eliza Thompson, and Georgana Bowen; one sister, Ann Hurst of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, May 25th at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Don Moye officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:30 until just prior to the service.
