Mrs. Martha Blizzard Parson, age 78, of Vidalia, died Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Johnson County, and was a 1955 graduate of Wrightsville High School.  Later, she met and married her husband; she lived in Swainsboro for six years, and has lived in Vidalia since 1966.  She was the co-owner of the Captain’s Corner from 1973 until 1982, and later the SeaWinder Restaurant for twenty years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, and the Winsome Sunday School Class.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Perry Blizzard and Bessie Elizabeth Garrett.

Mrs. Parson is survived by her husband, Jack H. Parson of Vidalia; three children, Denise Parson of Vidalia, Frank Parson of Richmond Hill, and Michael Parson and wife Paula of Vidalia; three granddaughters, Jenna Parson of Savannah, and Kailee and Cassidy Parson of Richmond Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, November 20th at 3:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Vidalia with Reverend Don Moye officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
