Lyons,

Mr. Bunji “Mark” Takaya, age 44, of Lyons, died Monday, April 11, 2016 at Meadows Regional Medical Center from injuries received as a result of a bicycle accident.  He was a native of Chicago, Illinois, lived most of his life in Hawaii before living in Florida for the past ten years, and has lived in Lyons since November.  He loved riding his bicycle and reading stacks of books at a time.  He was employed at Wal-Mart and attended Calvary Chapel Worship Center in Florida before moving to Lyons.

Mr. Takaya is survived by his wife of ten years, April Takaya of Lyons; four children, Jacob Furuto of Petoskey, Michigan, Jacy Furuto of Hauula, Hawaii, Nicholas Schlott of Tampa, Florida, and Destinee Schlott of Pooler.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohoopee Regional Library System, 610 Jackson Street, Vidalia, GA 30474.
