Mr. Mark W. Bond, age 67, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home, after a brief illness.  He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, and moved to Greenville, South Carolina as a child.  He grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke.  He moved to Toombs County in 1969 and was a manager with Trailways and Greyhound Bus Lines in Vidalia.  Later, he was in sales, before a career with Darby Bank and Trust.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia, and was an avid golfer.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Terry Bond in 2010; parents, Wade Franklin Bond and Mildred Jane Faulkner Bond; and a brother, Matthew Bond.

Mark is survived by one son, Chris Bond and wife Karen of Vidalia; one daughter, Terri Jo Burner and husband Troy of Milledgeville; one brother, Michael Bond and wife Rojane of Hardy, Virginia; one sister, Mitzi Bond Rowsey and husband Harry of High Point, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Ruben Terry of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Austin, Jayson, Landon, Cayden, Zach, and Abby; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia with Reverend Robert Greene officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial Donations may be made to the Carolyn T. Bond Scholarship Fund, C/O of the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 150, Vidalia, GA 30475.
