Vidalia,

Mrs. Margarette Alice Galbreath Morrison, age 80 of Vidalia, died Saturday, September 23, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Augusta, after a brief illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, and lived in the Center Community and Vidalia all of her life.  She retired after thirty-three years from Oxford Industries, and was a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Colon McKinley “Mac” Morrison; parents, John Thomas Galbreath, Sr. and Mary Ruby Booth Galbreath; and seven siblings, John T. Galbreath, Jr., Pearl Galbreath Whitfield, Dan Galbreath, Roy Galbreath, Katherine Galbreath Owens, Sam Galbreath, and Libby Galbreath Ruis.

Mrs. Morrison is survived by two daughters, Debby Jones and husband Jimmy of Columbus, and Marjorie Clark and husband Icey of Augusta; one sister, Martha Nell Galbreath Austin of Vidalia; two brothers-in-law, David Nathaniel Morrison of Brunswick, and Wendell Morrison of Lyons; seven grandchildren, Jason Jones and wife Misty, Stacey Cook, Jim Bob Jones and wife Amber, Julia Murphy and husband Ryan, Sabrina Clark, Cindy Jones Webster, and Kim Howard; eleven great-grandchildren, Jayce, Layla, Skylar, Barrett, Alice, Mia, Declan, Ashleigh, Cole, Courtney, and Caitlynne; two great-great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 27th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Corley officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
