Mrs. Louise M. “Mrs. G” Gibson, age 97 of Vidalia died Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Bethany Nursing Center. She was born in Washington County, lived in Swainsboro for many years, and has resided in Toombs County since 1949. She and her husband owned and operated “Jack’s Drive In Restaurant” and Motel from 1950 until 1969. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, the Steadfast Sunday School Class, the Bereavement Committee, sang in the choir, and taught RA’s and GA’s. She taught Sunday school at the Georgia State Prison in Reidsville, and was a Director of Women’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the Magnolia Midlands League of Women, Past President of Women’s Club of Vidalia, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Gibson in 1975.
 
Mrs. Gibson is survived by one daughter, Brenda Gibson Sims and Douglas of Aurora, Colorado; one son, Jack E. Gibson and Paula of Vidalia; one brother, Ted mason and Barbara of Lexington, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Andy M. Fountain, Cindy Gibson McLain, Jennifer Fountain Russell, Greg Fountain, Marla Fountain Baker, and Allie Gibson Coursey, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bucky Kennedy and Reverend Don Moye officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:00.
