Mr. Louis “Louie” Cartrette, age 50, of the Center Community, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, and lived there most of his life.  He was a cook at several restaurants in Vidalia, and was a Pentecostal by faith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Daisy Peebles Cartrette; two grandchildren, McKendrick and Logan; and a brother, James Cartrette.

Mr. Cartrette is survived by four daughters, Ashley Cartrette, Mandy Cartrette, Brittany Atkins and husband Dominique, all of Newington, and Amber Whitehead of Screven County; two sisters, Barbara Andreen of Lyons, and Carol Cartrette Slaton and husband Pat of the Toombs Central Community; two brothers, Mike Williams and wife Edith, and Lester Cartrette and wife Debbie, all of Normantown; thirteen grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held Friday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Collins officiating.
