Mt. Vernon,

Mr. Leon H. Edge, age 65, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in his home after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon. He was the owner/operator of Edge Drywall, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Oliver Edge; daughter, Melissa Allen; parents, Thurman and Dora Edge; and brothers, Billy Edge, Hubert Edge, and Edward Edge.

Mr. Edge is survived by one son, Len Edge of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Stephanie Edge and wife Vickie of Albany; seven sisters, Earlene Thompkins, Elizabeth Darrigans, Margaret Sanders, Jean Comstock, Mary Thompson, Faye Osting, and Brenda Claxton; six grandchildren, Jordan Ricks, Shanna Edge, Sydney Edge, Michael Ivey, Zoey Edge, and Brett Watson; and best friend, David Burkett of Mount Vernon.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 29th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Aldrich officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
