Lawson Braddock

Mr. Lawson Braddock, age 67, of Cochran, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 in the Serenity Hospice House in Dublin, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Toombs County and was a 1967 graduate of Toombs Central High School.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Georgia Southern University. In the early 1970’s, he taught English at Vidalia Comprehensive High School. In 1975, he moved to Atlanta and started with Fulton Supply and ultimately was the vice president of purchasing.  He managed several stores, including Fred’s and Dollar General in Cochran.  He was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nevil Wheeler Braddock; parents, Ezra and Bonnie Osborne Braddock; and a brother, Harry Braddock.

Mr. Braddock is survived one brother, Gilbert E. Braddock and wife Loretta of Hawkinsville; one sister, Faye Harvey and husband Danny of Reidsville; one sister-in-law, Lisa Braddock Bryant and husband “Tad” of Santa Claus; and several nieces and nephews, including two nieces that were special care givers, Lissa Belflower and Linda Warren, both of Cochran.    

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. in the South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend George Holcomb officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 until 9:30.
