Mrs. Kay Wheeler Youmans, age 70, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in the Oaks at Bethany, after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, and was a member of the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church.  She retired as a sales associate in the jewelry department after nineteen years from Wal-Mart in Vidalia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Youmans, her son, Richard Allen Wheeler; parents, Woodrow Wilson Wheeler and Mollie Kate Thompson Wheeler; a sister, Nevil Braddock; and a brother, Jimmy Wheeler.

Mrs. Youmans is survived by seven grandchildren, including Brandon Kent Wheeler of Vidalia, and Christopher Allen Wheeler of Broxton; three sisters, Shirley Smith, Betty Lewis, and Carol Brooks and husband Tony, all of Vidalia; one brother, Melvin Phillips and wife Nadine of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Toole officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at alzfdn.org
