Oak Park,
Mr. Karon Morris, age 76, of Oak Park, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Oak Park and enjoyed saltwater fishing, being a craftsman, spending time with his family, and his dogs Lucky and Buck. He served in the United States Army, fought in Vietnam, spent two additional years in the National Guard, and was Baptist by faith. He was a tool and dye mechanic, carpenter, and was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Morris; parents, Effie Mae and George Wilson Morris; and two brothers, Bennie Eugene Morris and G.W. Morris, Jr.
Mr. Morris is survived by one daughter, Jessica Morris Baugh and husband Eric of Metter; one son, Jaimey Morris of Oak Park; three stepchildren, Tiffany Turbyfill, Britany Turbyfill both of Oak Park, and Kim Ussery and wife Lisa of Collins; one brother, Thomas Wayne Morris and wife Kelly of Wadley; one sister, Ellen Hadden of Vidalia; several grandchildren; grand dogs; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 11th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Beckum officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Park City Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
