Lyons,

Mrs. Juanita Samples Hudson, age 91, of Lyons, died, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Stevens Park Health and Rehabilitation in Augusta, after an extended illness.  She was born in Kite, Georgia, and lived in Lyons most of her life. She retired in 1989 as a bookkeeper from Bethany Nursing in Vidalia after nearly thirty years of service.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, and the Eastern Star, Chapter #546.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hudson; parents, Otis Samples and Annie Mae Peebles Samples; three sisters, Iris Mae Logan, Ruby Moore, and Ouida Pittman; and two brothers, Otis Lee Samples and Ferdinand Samples.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by two daughters, Shawn Hudson Crosby and husband Greg of Waynesboro, and Anita Sue Doan and husband Louis of Green Cove Springs, Florida; six grandchildren, Aspen Smith of Washington, D.C., Eric Smith of Vidalia, Olivia Crosby and Cameron Crosby of Hazlehurst, Maggie McDonnell and husband Hal of Silver Springs, Florida, and Tommy Doan of Green Cove Springs, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Wigley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
