Vidalia,

Mrs. Joyce Dunn, age 83, of Vidalia, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Hornell, New York, and lived there until moving to Vidalia in 2013.  She was a seamstress all of her life, and worked out of her home.  She was a member of Women of the Moose in Hornell, and was an avid archer and attained New York State Championships.  She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, and was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Hornell.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gene “Red” Dunn in 1994; parents Lendford George Bates and Mary Ernestine Waldorf Bates; and three siblings.

Mrs. Dunn is survived by seven children, Sharon Marie Robertson and husband David of Vidalia, Susan Lorraine Morgan and husband Tom of Altoona, Pennsylvania, Patricia Ann Walsh and husband Jim of North Pole, Alaska, Constance “Connie” Dunn of Vidalia, Elizabeth Ann Barnes and husband Bill of Canisteo, New York, Eugene John Dunn and wife Robyn of Arkport, New York, Thomas Robert Dunn and wife Judy of Hornell; nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including a nephew, Jack Halsey and wife Roxy of Hartsville, New York.

Funeral services will be held later in the week in Hornell.
