Cedar Crossing Community,

Mrs. Johnnie Margaret “Pete” Dees, age 79, of Cedar Crossing, died Monday, April 20, 2015 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Cedar Crossing, lived there most of her life, and was a resident of the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia for the past four years.  She was a member of the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by a son, Keith “Hoover” Clark; a grandson, Bill Clark; parents, John and Sadie Jones Dees; and four siblings, Lucy, Bobby, Jackie, and Dwight.

Mrs. Dees is survived by three children, Kenny Clark and wife Pauline of Alston, Kathy Clark Meeks and husband Danny of Ellabell, and Melinda Patterson of Kentucky; six siblings, Marion Dixon of Vidalia, Joann Peterson of Vidalia, Aubrey “Dutter” Dees of Cedar Crossing, Johnny Dees of Baxley, Becky Vaughn of Vidalia, and Jerry Dees of Cedar Crossing; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 22nd at 3:00 p.m. in the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Uvalda City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
