Johnie Hue Chambers

November 21, 1937 ~ August 17, 2013 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Mr. Johnie Hue Chambers, age 75, of Milledgeville died Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the Serenity Hospice Care in Dublin after an extended illness. He was a native of Uvalda and spent most of his life in Hazlehurst before moving to Milledgeville in 2007. He served in the United States Army as a property book officer and retired after twenty four years of service. While in active duty, he served tours in France, two in Germany, and another in Korea and was a Vietnam veteran as well and was Baptist by faith.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie Morris; his parents, Jessie and Ella Chambers; his brothers, Barney, RH, and William; and his sister, Algie.

Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Chambers; three sons, Willie Hue Chambers of Uvalda, Robert Lewis Chambers of Reidsville, and Earl Scott Chambers and wife Wol Yong of Augusta; one step-son, Paul Chambers of Milledgeville; two daughters, Madeline C. Hargrove and husband Charles Michael of Hazlehurst and Maxine Chambers Little of Hazlehurst; one brother, Jessie Mack Chambers and wife Gail of Ailey; three sisters, Lille Mae Cauley of Okeechobee, FL, Geneva Cauley of Clewiston, FL, and Ruby C. Watson and husband Walter of Havana, FL; ten grandchildren, Teresa Lynn Lewis, Jessie Earl Chambers, John William Chambers, Lisa Melinda Martin, Aubrey Eugene Clark Jr., Cody Wesley Clark, Justin Ryan Little, Paul Chambers, Marissa Chambers, and Bobby Ray Chambers Jr.; and five great grandchildren, Andrew Clinton Lewis, McKenzie Diane Yong Chambers, Scott Yohan Chambers, Bobby Ray Chambers III, and Ashley Pearl Chambers.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 20th at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Serenity Hospice Care at 504 Parker Dairy Road, Dublin, Georgia, 31021.
