Vidalia,

Mrs. Jimmie Sharpe, age 85, of Vidalia, died Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of Alston, and a graduate of Toombs Central High School, and Brewton-Parker College.  She taught school in New Branch for two years, worked with Georgia Seed and Supply as secretary and bookkeeper, and with Lake McDonald Construction.  She was a member of the Alston United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Gussie Cowart Sharpe; brother, Claude Sharpe; three sisters, Dorothy Stephens, Hazel cannon, and Anne Sharpe; and a nephew, James Wesley Sharpe.

Jimmie is survived by seven nieces and nephews, Martha Stephens Staples and husband Glen of Flovilla, John Stephens and wife Deborah of Alston, Bonnie Cannon Walker and husband Dave of Naperville, Illinois, Randy Cannon and wife Peggy of Milledgeville, Sue Cannon Carrick of Evans, Sandra Cannon Gordon and husband Jerry of Warner Robins, and Anne Sharpe Warren and husband Randi of Dudley; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held later in the summer.
