Lyons,

Mr. Jerry Manning, Sr., age 68, of Lyons, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Monday.  He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, grew up in Jesup, lived in Florida for several years, and moved to Toombs County in 1983.  Before retiring, he was a truck driver with Jenkins Timber Company in Glennville.  He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Lyons.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford William Manning, Sr. and Nancy Caroline Turner Manning; and three brothers, Sandy Manning, Jimmy Miles, and Bill Miles.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Melanie Manning of Lyons; four children, Selena McCrary of Jesup, Jerry Manning, Jr. and wife Leanne of Vidalia, Dan Manning of Baltimore, Maryland, and Gina Manning of Vidalia; one brother, Johnny Manning of Florida; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, March 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn Russell officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
