Mr. Jed Harris, age 66, of Vidalia, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, retired from the Georgia State Department of Corrections after forty years, and was a Vietnam Era United States Army veteran. He coached football at the Vidalia Recreation Department for several years and was an avid fisherman, sportsman, and hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Irma Diekel Harris; brother, P.G. McNatt; and stepson, Shane Williamson.

Mr. Harris is survived by two sons, Cliff Harris of Gainesville, Florida, and Chad Harris of Florida; one daughter, Kayla Harden of Texas; former wife and care giver, Sandi Harris of Vidalia; one sister, Jean McNatt Thompson of Vidalia; one niece, Kim Waters and husband Byron of Lyons; and two nephews, Robbie Bass of Atlanta, and Keith Bass of Vidalia.

The memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Chaplain John Daughtry officiating.  A private burial will be held at a later date in Pinecrest Cemetery.
