Great Man, I met Mr. Couey the first time when I signed up to play baseball in the City of Vidalia many years ago. From then on he was Coach Couey even when he was employed at the Parole Office on Lyons. Coach thanks for everything you did for me and the rest of ball players. I am so sorry for the family and may God bless you all. Coach thanks again.

Mrs. Barbara and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of such a wonderful man. I do not know what prompted me to look at obituaries in the Vidalia area this very day. God works in unusual ways, I have always heard. When I saw Mr. Sid's picture, I could not believe my eyes. I love you and your family. Yall will always be special to me. I pray that God will comfort and keep you in His care during this time and always. My deepest sympathies. Sending prayers and love to each of you. Wanda

Love and Peace to all the Couey's during this difficult time. Memories of tagging along Daddy and Sid, and his bird dogs hunting for quail, his tour of Brewton Parker's athletic facilities, yearly meet ups at the beach talking sports, and that grin and firm handshake. And of course shark tooth hunting- the first 3 hours were really fun. Rest in Peace Uncle Sid. Love, Jimmy, Glenda, Emma and Kate

This world we live in has lost a wonderful man. He truly was a southern gentleman who was always willing to help others. The Couey family is in our prayers.

I just can't be sad at the passing of my friend Sid Couey ! If ever a man enjoyed life and caused others to enjoy it, it was Sid. I first met Coach Sid Couey as my baseball coach at Brewton Parker College in 1975...I remember him standing at home plate with a fungo bat hitting the ball to the deepest part of the outfield and shouting "You better not let that ball drop" ! Smile....later we worked together at Piggly Wiggly, and then at CSB....He took me on my first bird hunting trip, and showed me that three bird dogs could fit under the front trunk of a Volkswagen beetle.....he also showed me how to deal with a bird dog that ate the bird......smile...Ms Barbara and family, please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers, and my love for you and my friend Sid will be forever ! May God Bless !

Barbara & family,
I know your hearts are broken at having to say goodbye to such a wonderful husband and father. Sid was such an outstanding man who gave unselfishly of himself to others. He will be missed by so many. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers during the coming time of adjustment.
