Mr. Jake Coleman, age 40, of Nashville, Tennessee, died August 11, 2017 at the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, after an extended illness. He was a native of Texas, spent most of his life there until moving to Georgia in 2006, and recently moved to Nashville. He was previously a correctional officer at Smith State Prison in Reidsville and was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Coleman.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of ten years, Julie Castleman Coleman of Vidalia; two daughters, Katie of Vidalia and Logan of Athens; parents, Kathleene and Jerry Johnson of Houston, Texas; one sister, Sarah Stewart of Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Donna Castleman;  two nephews, Graye Castleman and Cameron Castleman; mother-in-law, Jackie Castleman all of Vidalia; friends, Caleb Harrison of Reidsville and Robert Peterson of Ailey; special friend, Marissa Coleman Edwards and her children, Savannah Edwards, Roman Edwards, and Gabriel Edwards all of Nashville, Tennessee; and his two boxers, Woogie and Lilybelle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to McGregor Presbyterian Church at P.O. Box 215, Mt. Vernon GA 30445.
