Uvalda,

Mr. Jack Dixon, age 84 of Uvalda, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Serenity Hospice Place in Dublin, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Montgomery County, moved to Orlando, Florida in 1956, and immediately started to work with Hubbard Construction Company, and retired in 1994 as superintendent.  In 1994 he moved back home to Uvalda, and founded Dixon Land Clearing and Dirt Hauling Construction Company in which he operated until he was 80.  He was a member of the Smyrna United Methodist Church and Milliken’s Creek Masonic Lodge #302.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hiram Dixon and Thetus Gray Dixon; three brothers, Woodrow Dixon, Marvin Dixon, and W.H. Dixon; and five sisters, Zenobia Davis, Lillie Mae Mosley, Annie Lou Tyson, Muriel Davis, and Eloise Carter.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Dixon of Uvalda; three children, Jackie Dixon and wife Tiffany of Warner Robins, Tamara Ellen King of Kissimmee, Florida, and Thomas D. King of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21st at 2:00 p.m. in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Chad Watkins officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 until just prior to service.
