Lyons,

Mr. J.Z. McKinley, Jr., age 86, of Lyons, died Friday, September 25, 2015 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Lyons, and a 1945 graduate of Lyons High School.  He attended North Georgia College and ABAC.  He was a farm equipment salesman for twenty-five years, and farmed all of his life.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons, the John Durst Sunday School Class, and the Men’s Improvement Club.  He was a member of the Former Jaycees in Lyons.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Z. McKinley, Sr. and Dovie Ree McDilda McKinley; a sister, Melba McKinley Pedcini; a daughter-in-law, Teresa McKinley; and a great-granddaughter, Sidney Kate Staten.

Mr. McKinley is survived by Jessie Harper Hess of Lyons; one daughter, Linda Mosher and husband Malcolm of Marietta; one son, Mike McKinley of Lyons; four grandchildren, Jennifer Railey and husband Scott of Marietta, Deidre Staten and husband Robby of Dalton, Diana McKinley and fiancé Chris Cochran of Warner Robins, and Tiffany McKinley and fiancé Robert Edwards of Lyons; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Martin and Reverend Jim Morrow officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
