Oak Park,

Mr. Herschel Collins, age 84, of Oak Park, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, after a brief illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Oak Park, was a member of the Lower Corinth Free Will Baptist Church.  He retired from Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro; most recently worked at Thriftway in Lyons, and was a member of the Oak Park Hunting Club.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Maude Wheeler Collins; and a brother, Herbert Collins.

Mr. Collins is survived by two nephews, David E. Collins and Danny Collins and wife Francis; two great-nephews, Wesley Collins and D.J. Collins, all of Orangeburg, South Carolina; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Lower Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Brantley and Harold Milligan officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lower Corinth Free Will Baptist Church.
