Mrs. Helen “Scoot” Bass, age 72, of Vidalia, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Bolingreen Health and Rehabilitation in Macon after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in the Griffin area most of her life before returning to Vidalia in 2000. She was a home maker and was preceded in death by her parents, Remer and Mazie Caraway Willis; two brothers, Lee Wade Willis and Larry Willis; and one sister, Deanie Teuscher.

Mrs. Bass is survived by one son, Russell Bass and wife Leyla of Epping, North Dakota; one brother, Donnie Willis of Newnan; one sister, Ann Taylor of Searcy, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Jeremy Dagly, Kayla Bass, and Hunter Bass; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held Thursday, August 25th at 3:00 p.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Don Hughes officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:30 until 2:30 and then proceed to the cemetery.
