Gray’s Landing Community,

Mrs. Ginger Claxton, age 57, of the Gray’s Landing Community, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Leesburg, Florida, and moved to Montgomery County in 1974.  She was manager at Shuman Cleaners in Vidalia and worked there for fifteen years.  She was Baptist by faith.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Claxton; parents, James K. “Slap” Clements and Madeline Lay Clements; a brother, Timmy Clements; and a niece, Angela Foskey Hart.

Mrs. Claxton is survived by two sons, Mark Claxton and wife Melissa and Jason “Huggie” Claxton, all of Uvalda; three sisters, Sharon Brown of Vidalia, Debbie Chancey and husband Kayo of Palatka, Florida, and Darlene Foskey and husband Hal of Uvalda; long-time companion, Benton Lee Powell of Gray’s Landing; four grandchildren, Joe Cowart, Landon Claxton, Blaine Claxton, and Makayla Bruce; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey and Ken Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Uvalda City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00.
