Mr. George Foster Craft, Jr., age 89, of the South Thompson Community, died Sunday, January 22, 2017.  He was a native of Toombs County, and lived in Lyons and the South Thompson Community most of his life.  Mr. Craft was an Army veteran serving in World War II and retired from Piggly Wiggly Southern in 1989.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Dowd Craft; parents, George and Bertha Evans Craft and nine brothers and sisters.

Mr. Craft is survived by seven children, Dianne Sowell (Hubert), Cynthia Hadnot (Shane), Wayne Craft (Sheila), Delma Craft (Judy), Traci Felts (George), Rhonda Jones (D.J.), and Corey Craft (Leah); three sisters, Faye Monahan, Glenda Osborne (Earl), and Frances Carlisle; brother-in-law Frank Howell and sister-in-law Mary Craft; sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend B.L. Horne and Reverend Greg Riner officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
