Vidalia,
Mr. Edmond Eugene “Gene” Wrenn, Jr., age 64, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was Pentecostal by faith. Gene was a truck driver, automotive mechanic, TV repairman, and was an engineer. He was passionate about music, and was a vocalist, pianist, guitarist, organist, bass guitarist, valve trombonist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Wrenn; and his father, Edmond Eugene Wrenn, Sr.
Mr. Wrenn is survived by two daughters, Paula G. Wrenn of Vidalia, and Sue Warren and husband Richard of Cobbtown; his mother, Annie Grace Poole Wrenn of Vidalia; his former wife, Marchan Young of Ft. Oglethorpe; two brothers, Stephen Wrenn and wife Dorothy of Vidalia, and Kenneth Wayne Wrenn and wife Judy of Waycross; two grandchildren, Morgan Wampler and husband Justus of Glennville, and William Joseph Lacey of Cobbtown; and one great-grandson, Tripp Hallman of Glennville.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 9th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
