Mrs. Elsie Galbreath Waller, age 96, of Vidalia, died Friday, May 19, 2017, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of the Sharpe Spur Community, a graduate of Alston High School, and has lived in Vidalia since the early 1940’s.  She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, and the Steadfast Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Waller; parents, Henry Harrison Galbreath, Sr. and DeAlice Booth Galbreath; infant daughter, Angela Lynn Waller; and six siblings.

 

Mrs. Waller is survived by five children, Phil Waller and wife Maggie of Upland, California, Gail Waller, Mike Waller, Parker Waller and wife Judy, and Homer Waller and wife Chrystal all of Vidalia; one brother, Reggie Galbreath and wife Gail of Appling; one sister, Joyce Galbreath Skaggs of the Sharpe Spur Community; five grandchildren, Michelle Garcia, Vicki Clark, Ali Waller, Brooke Waller, and Tom Waller; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Cole and Baylee, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Nell Tesney Blaxton.

The funeral service will be held Monday, May 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, Historic Sanctuary with Reverend Don Moye and Reverend Bill Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00.
