Mrs. Dorothy Marie Weikel “Dot” Williams, age 100, of Vidalia, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness. She was born July 30, 1915 in Helfenstein, Pennsylvania, and moved to Vidalia in 1968. She was a former member of Calvary on Aimwell, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia and the Steadfast Sunday School Class. She was a member of Eastern Star # 536, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Women’s Club, and was an Auxilian at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia for thirty-four years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Williams; parents, Pierce and Maude Weikel; a son-in-law, Devon Kelhear; and three sisters, Loretta Heyer, Irene Hepler, and Alma Weist; and two brothers, Kenneth Weikel and Hunts Weikel.
Mrs. Williams is survived by one daughter, Kay Kelhear of Vidalia; one son, Harry Williams and wife Cynthia of Harlem; one granddaughter, Donna Parker; one great-granddaughter Katie Parker, both of Edgefield, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews, including a nephew Charlie Weist of Henderson, Tennessee.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Don Moye officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
