Mr. Donald Banks, age 72, of the Center Community, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, and lived in the Center Community most of his life.  He worked as an engineer for Georgia Machine for many years.  Presently, he was co-owner of Georgia High Tech, and was always grateful for his Georgia High Tech family.  He was Baptist by faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his pond, and visiting with his buddies at the flea market.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Leona Tootle Banks; two sisters, Pearl Shepherd and Dean Miles; and three brothers, Chester Banks, Coleman Banks, and Delmos Banks.

Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Betty Poole Banks; one son, Tony Banks and wife Robyn, all of Center; three step-children, Michael Foreman of Madison, Greg Foreman and wife Tracy of Marietta, and Tina Lee of Milledgeville; one sister, Vera Kearney of Jacksonville, South Carolina; one grandson, Tracy Banks; five step-grandchildren, Kristina, Rachel, Maura, Dawson, and Cullen; numerous nieces nephews, and cousins, and a special friend, Bobby Blount.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Lock Wilford, Sr. officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 201 South Main St., Suite A, Statesboro GA 30458.
