Vidalia,

Mrs. DeAvis Blaxton Williamson, age 86, of Vidalia, died Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Kibbee and attended the Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  She was a homemaker and secretary.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Williamson; a grandson, Justin Andrew Wilkes; her parents, Lester Miles Blaxton, Sr. and Dorothy DeAlva Palmer Blaxton Wilkes; and a son-in-law, Larry Wilkes.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by one daughter, Jan Wilkes of Ailey; two sisters, DeAnne Blaxton Shiplett, and Jackie Wilkes and husband Wayne of Alston; one brother, A.L. Wilkes and wife Mary of Vidalia; three grandchildren, Larry Aaron “Bo” Wilkes, Jody Everett Wilkes, and Mandy Cartrette, all of Ailey; and seven great-grandchildren, Luke Michael Wilkes, Logan Chaz Wilkes, Emily Alexis Woods, Laci Aaron Wilkes, all of Ailey, Shawn Tylor Cartrette, Trevor Shaw Cartrette, and Triston Miranda Braswell, all of Mt. Vernon.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Durden and Reverend Bill Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
