Mrs. Daphne “Babe” Hughes Lee, age 69, of Vidalia, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Oak Park, and a 1965 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She was a homemaker, a member of the Cornerstone Holiness Church, and was an avid gardener.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Ruby Turner Hughes; and a sister, Eloise Deforest.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Robert Glenn Lee of Vidalia; six children, Jesse Lee and wife Kim of Gainesville, Phillip Lee of Chicago, Illinois, Shannon Lee and wife, Erin of Newburgh, Indiana, Donna Lee of Atlanta, Robert Lee and wife, Caitlin of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Dane Lee of Dublin, three grandchildren, Alexis Lee, Anika Lee, and Evelyn Lee; four brothers, Vernon Hughes and wife, Faye of Vidalia, Seab Hughes wife Cherry of Vidalia, Donny Hughes and wife, Tonya of Soperton, and Kelmer Hughes, Waycross, four sisters, Annette Morris of Augusta, Hazel Hutto and husband, Melvin of Douglas, and Marie Carter and husband Jimmy of Douglas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 31st at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Henry Dowd officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Henry Lamb.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00, and will assemble at the residence of a brother, Seab Hughes, 246 Coleman Road, Vidalia.
