Treutlen County,

Mr. Danny Smith, age 60, of Treutlen County, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Atlanta, after a sudden illness.  He lived half his life in Toombs County and lived the remainder with his family in Treutlen County.    He worked with Coleman Sales for twenty-five years and with United Distribution for fifteen years.  He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and from a young age until his death, he faithfully attended the Vidalia Kingdom Hall.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George Curtis Smith and Ellen Martin Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Janie Smith of Treutlen County; one daughter, Shea Clark and husband Caleb of Claxton; one son, Daniel Smith of Treutlen County; one brother, David Smith of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Brenda Glisson and husband Aldum of Uvalda, and Allerie Helton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2000 McIntosh St., Vidalia GA 30474.

The family will receive friends at the church on the day of the service from 2:00 until 3:00.
