Moultrie/Vidalia,

Mrs. Daisy Young Swearingen, age 89, of Vidalia and formerly of Moultrie, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017, in The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia.  She was a native of Arabi in Crisp County, lived in Norman Park for several years, in Moultrie most of her life, and in Vidalia for fourteen years.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Colquitt County.  She was preceded in death by her husband George Swearingen; parents Archie and Thelma Sutton Young; two sisters, Maudeen Young and Margaret Castleberry; one brother Bobby Young; and a son-in-law Wayne Goff.

Mrs. Swearingen is survived by seven children, Ray Swearingen and wife Pat, Donald Swearingen, Hughie Swearingen and Sharon, Leslie Tyson, all of Moultrie, Jeanette Goff of Montgomery County, Steve Swearingen and wife Darlene of the Petross Community in Toombs County, and Lisa New and husband Mark of Rincon; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, September 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County.
