Normantown Community,

Mr. Curtis Eugene Jones, age 88, of the Normantown Community, died Friday, July 17, 2015 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of the Providence Community, lived in Lyons most of his life, and in Normantown since 2006.  He was the owner/operator of Tommye‘s Super Shell and the Sinclair Station in Lyons for many years.  He served as Deputy Coroner of Toombs County for sixteen years with Mandel Edenfield.  Curtis served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, was a fifty-year member of Lyons Masonic Lodge # 49, and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-eight years, Tommye Tomlin Jones; parents, Fred and Susie Mae Jones; seven siblings, F.W., Willard, Ernest, Marion, Robert, Don, and James; grandson, Nolan Ryan Jones, one great-granddaughter, Georgia Rose Kinard.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Rose Nabb Jones of Normantown; children, Sandra Jones Toole and husband Larry of the Johnson Corner Community, Alan Jones of Vidalia, Ricky Jones and wife Linda of Auburndale, Florida; Ann Gibbs and husband Steve of Bluffton, SC; one sister, Marjorie Jones Stewart of Vidalia; one brother, Davis Jones of Lyons; one sister-in-law, Marcia T. Joslin; seven grandchildren,  Traci Brown, Amy Brown, Justin Jones, Tyler Jones, Kristi Gibbs, Daniel Gibbs, and Luke Gibbs; six great-grandchildren, Emily Brown, Adam Brown, Lena Brown, Caleb Jones, Aaron Milam, Noah Milam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Raymond Burrell and Reverend Bill Vansant officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 until just prior to the service.
