Mr. Creighton E. Toole, Sr., age 76, of the New Branch Community, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at his home, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, living in Homerville, and Daytona Beach for several years, and returned home to New Branch where he lived most of his life.  Early in his life, he raced on dirt tracks in Baxley. He was a farmer, mechanic, and pulp wooded most of his life, and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after twenty-three years of service.  He was a member of the Edmond Chapel Church of God.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mildred Parrish Toole, sister, Carolyn Toole Meeks; and two brothers, W.F. Toole and Harvey Toole.

Mr. Toole is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Josie Mosley Toole; two daughters, Marie Toole Collins and Beth Toole Norfleet; one son, Gene Toole, Jr.; one brother, Wilton Toole and wife Jo Ann, all of New Branch; two sisters, Eloise Toole Atkins of Ft. Myers, Florida and Joyce Toole Gardner and husband Jack of Sardis; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18th at 3:30 p.m. in the Creighton E. Toole, Sr. Family Cemetery, 919 Toole Road, Lyons, with Jesse Todd officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 until 1:30.
