Vidalia,

Colon Murry Kitchens, 80 passed away peacefully September 29, 2016 at Community Hospice in Vidalia. He was born August 9, 1936 in Toombs County to William L. and Annie Montgomery Kitchens. He married Frances Hood on June 27, 1959. Together they had two children, Angela and Murray. He resided in Vidalia, GA since 1962. He was in sales for many years. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses associated with the congregation in Vidalia. Colon was a talented musician, playing locally from the 1960-80's as drummer for The Versatells.

He is survived by his wife Frances, daughter Angela (Raymond) Stewart of LaGrange, GA, son Murray (Michelle) Kitchens of Perry, GA, as well as one grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and four sisters.

A memorial service will held 3:00 PM, October 8, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2000 McIntosh St., Vidalia with Scott Weigl officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
