Christine (Beck) McCoy

Mrs. Christine Beck McCoy, age 80, of Vidalia, died Saturday, February 3, 2018, in the University Hospital in Augusta, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Wheeler County and grew up in the Landsburg Community. She lived in Toombs County most of her life and in Augusta for the past four years.  She worked at Jack’s Drive Inn for several years and with Globe Manufacturing and Toombs Manufacturing Company for many years.  She and was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McCoy, Sr.; parents, John and Docia Butler Beck; one brother, Russell Beck; and one sister, Evelyn Beck Joyner.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by one son, Lenard McCoy, Jr. and wife Debra of Ellijay; two sisters, Mary C. Jacobs of Nichols and Debra Beck Herron of Augusta; five grandchildren, Michelle Lord of Dexter, Brandi Morris of Germany, Brent Temples of Vidalia, Mike McCoy of Tampa Bay, Florida, and Gentry McCoy of Ellijay; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Albert White and Pastor Irvin Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
